Tips on Dungeon Leveling in the World of Warcraft

Before the advent of the Dungeon Finder Tool in the World of Warcraft, instance leveling was not possible especially if you don’t have four friends with the same online schedule as you. Now you can get fast XP, better gear and practice raiding through dungeon leveling.

It doesn’t matter what level your toon might be. There’s a dungeon you can run in the World of Warcraft. Here are some tips to make your dungeon leveling easier.

When dungeon leveling, you must set aside time for it. During this period, you should not be interrupted by anything except for call of nature. It would be inconsiderate for your party members to keep on AFKing and let them wait for you.

One must be able to spend at least an hour dungeon leveling. Keep in mind that your gears are non-epic and old world instances are much longer than the new ones in Northend. Your group might spend more time if all of you are unfamiliar with the instance.

The queue for the Dungeon Finder is shorter when there are lots of people online. Don’t expect to find a group during off-peak hours. Weekends are the best time to find mates for dungeon leveling sessions. Tanks and healers are hot commodities in dungeons and they spend less time looking for groups.

Before going into a dungeon, be sure to get the quests for that instance. The rewards for dungeon quests are better than the drops inside the instance and are far better than the rewards from normal quests. Plus you’ll get bonus XP for completing the dungeon quests. You could ask your party if they can share quests with you.

Also before using the Dungeon Finder Tool, clear your bags with unwanted stuff. Place not-so-important things in the bank or if you don’t have space or mail them to an alt. Sell your junk to vendors. Then make sure you stock up on the essential such as drinks, food, bandages, potions, reagents, and anything you’ll need in a dungeon. You should also repair before going in a dungeon.

You can start dungeon leveling as early as Level 15 in the World of Warcraft. Although at that level dungeons will be hard to complete. When you use the Dungeon Finder Tool, you’ll be grouped with people within your level range. You’ll also be directed into an appropriate instance for your level.

The disadvantage of using the Dungeon Finder is that you don’t know who your party members will be. You might be grouped with players that would blame everyone else when the group wipes. Usually they’re the ones to be blamed. This makes your dungeon leveling a waste of time and energy.

But if you got a good group going, you can ask them if they want to run another one after completing a dungeon. That way you don’t have to worry about long queues looking for another group.

Dungeon leveling is fun if you know what you’re doing. Don’t hesitate to tell everyone that it’s your first time in a particular dungeon if that’s the case. Most of the time other players will be happy to tell you what to do during boss fights.
